Srinagar is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.The city is famous for its gardens, waterfronts and houseboats. It is also known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and dried fruits.
Srinagar is one of several places that have been called the "Venice of the East" or the "Kashmiri Venice Lakes around the city include Dal Lake – noted for its houseboats and Nigeen Lake. Apart from Dal lake and Nigeen lake city is also famous for wular lake and manasbal lake to the north of srinagar. Wular lake is one of the largest fresh water lakes in Asia.
Itinerary
On arrival at the Srinagar airport (on your own), you will be received by Thomas cook representative / driver. Once you board your vehicle, you will proceed to the hotel. Later in the afternoon, proceed for the famous Mughal Gardens and carpet weaving factories. Evening enjoy Shikara ride on Dal Lake (subject to weather conditions). Dinner & overnight will be in the hotel.
After breakfast, depart for full day excursion to Gulmarg. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. Enjoy beautiful snow capped peaks and gondola ride (Till 1st level, subject to weather conditions). Later you can take a walk around Gulmarg and enjoy beautiful flowers. Return to the hotel at Srinagar in the evening. Dinner & overnight will be in the hotel in Srinagar.
Today after breakfast, check out from Srinagar and proceed for Pahalgam. En route visit Saffron fields, Avantipura Ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiwareman), see the beautiful countryside on the way and lot of rice fields. On arrival at Pahalgam, check into your hotel. Evening is free for leisure activities. Dinner & overnight stay will be at hotel in Pahalgam.
Today after early breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed to Srinagar airport.
